The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam said, in part of a hadeeth:

" ...Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No People gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it amongst themselves, without tranquility descending upon them, mercy enveloping them, and angels surrounding them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those who are with Him..."

MADRESSA SHOUKATUL ISLAM has been in existence for over 65 years. Undoubtedly, it is a long period in the life and history of any organization to be in existence.

When one reflects at the time and length of such an existence, it goes to prove that this successful growth and achievement in its spiritual cause must be solely awarded, both to the pioneers’ of this institution and the dedication displayed and contributed by the Muslim UMMAH of Overport and the surrounding areas.

The Madressa is one of the oldest Islamic Institutions in Southern Africa in serving the Ummah to impart Islamic Education and Knowledge.

The Madrassah offers Pre - School and Day Care facilities and since last year , it has been providing free Madressah & Hifz classes from grade 0 through to Grade 7.
